Roof repairs to a listed house

Roof repairs, maintenance and leadwork to a Grade II listed house.

The gable end of a Cotswold stone house under scaffolding, with the stone coping taken off the verge, fresh timber laid along both roof slopes against the gable, and one of the pair working along the right-hand verge in an F&H hoodie.

What we did

  • The house is Grade II listed.
  • Roof repairs and maintenance to it, with leadwork.
  • The stone coping came off the gable and the verge was stripped back.
  • New timber went in along it, then the slates and the coping were bedded back on fresh mortar.
  • Quoted in writing before anything started.
  • Alex was told when we would be there and what was being done.

What the customer said

Recommends

Our house is a Grade II listed property that required some important roof repairs and maintenance, so it was particularly important to us to find a roofing company with the right experience and expertise.

We invited several local roofers to visit and quote for the work, but F&H stood out from the outset as organised, knowledgeable and very professional. Their written quotation was clear and detailed, and communication was excellent from start to finish. We always knew when they were coming, what work was being carried out and what to expect.

Everything was completed on time and within the agreed budget, and we’re very pleased with the result. We wouldn’t hesitate to use F&H again and would happily recommend them.
